Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.
The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.
The books begin and end with Harry's families, so I thought I'd kick this whole thing off with a nod to the first and last lines.
On that note...
Did you like the Epilogue? Why or why not?
Overall, yes, I did like the Epilogue. I know it's gotten a lot of flack from fans and I'm not entirely sure why. As far as an author wrapping up her tale, I think Rowling did a fine job. It's not up to us who ends up with who (even if we have our own preferences); that's the author's creative right. And I liked the characterization of the second generation (particularly Albus Severus, unfortunate though his name might be). I mean, in general, I wish certain people had lived and others had ended up with different partners, but within the confines of the "canon," I see no reason to dislike it.
I just hope they do it okay in the movie. The pictures that have been leaked lead me to be less than optimistic...
What about you? Epilogue yea or nay?
I liked the epilogue! it gave closure to the story and didn't leave you wondering what could have happened
